LA Loves: 2,700 stickers at the World Cup watch parties

The Mayor’s Office of Strategic Partnerships asked one question of Angelenos this summer: “What do you love about LA?” We built a 15-by-10-foot tent with a back-wall mural and a four-part sticker survey, and took it to Kick It in the Park, the city’s free World Cup viewing parties at parks across LA: Echo Park, the Jackie Tatum Harvard Recreation Center and Whitsett Fields.
More than 2,700 votes and 76 written comments later, the city has the beginning of a new dataset for planning its own celebrations, with Super Bowl LXI and the LA28 Olympics coming. Thanks to Mayor Karen Bass’s team and Deputy Mayor Amanda Daflos for letting us take data off the screen and into the park.
