Using this site

This site belongs to Jason Forrest Agency, a data visualization studio in New York City. By using it you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

The site is here to show our work and ideas and to help you get in touch. You may read, share and link to it. Please don’t copy large parts of it, republish our case studies or images as your own, or try to break, overload or scrape it in ways that get in the way of other visitors.

We work hard to keep things accurate, but the site is provided as it is. Case studies describe past projects; numbers and results belong to the time they were made. Links to other sites are there because we think they’re useful. We don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for them.

We may update these terms. When we do, we’ll change the date at the top of this page.

Privacy

We collect as little as we can.

• When you write to us. If you email us or use a form on the site (the contact form or “Send me the deck”), we receive what you type: usually your name, your email address and your message. We use it to reply and to keep track of the conversation, and nothing else. We don’t sell it, rent it or add you to a mailing list.
• When you just browse. We don’t run advertising or analytics trackers. Like every website, our servers and the services listed below see technical details such as your IP address and browser in order to deliver pages and files.

You can ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, at any time: write to hello@jasonforrestagency.com.

Cookies and storage

This site doesn’t set cookies. It keeps one small note in your browser’s session storage so the big logo animation plays once per visit and not on every page. It’s cleared when you close the tab. The interactive pieces (like the footer’s colour and pattern buttons) remember nothing once you leave.

Services we rely on

• Web3Forms passes form messages to our inbox.
• Cloudflare stores and serves our video and audio files (media.jasonforrestagency.com).
• Google Fonts supplies the typefaces on some case study pages, so your browser asks Google for them when you open those pages.

Each of these handles the technical details it needs under its own privacy policy.

Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to use this site. We aim for WCAG 2.2 AA: it works with a keyboard and screen readers, images carry descriptions, and the animations calm down when your device asks for reduced motion.

Some pieces are experimental (a wordmark that turns into a chart, say). If something gets in your way, tell us at hello@jasonforrestagency.com and we’ll fix it or get you the information another way.
