Living Spaces: an exhibition built from nothing in 48 hours

Goof van de Winkel at Graphic Hunters gave us an empty room at the Centraal Museum in Utrecht and two days to turn a group of strangers into a data-art exhibition. Eleven people from across Europe — most of them strangers on Monday morning — split into three teams: Team Tile, Team Canal and Team Green Space. Together we went through the steps to research, prototype, design and build an exhibition in 48 hours, and on Tuesday night we had an opening, with a crowd, for a show about the relationship between the environment, technology and city living.

We had never tried to make a whole show that fast and honestly weren’t sure it would work. But it did, and the thing we didn’t expect was how quickly a gathering of unfamiliar faces turned into a collective.
